Grey coverage or grey blending?

Compare full coverage, softer transitions, dark-dye history and maintenance goals.

10 questions · Menu details and practical consultation notes

Prices follow the confirmed menu. Unspecified steps or fees are marked for confirmation. General care and safety information does not replace a hair assessment or medical advice.

01What is the difference between grey coverage and grey blending?

Coverage aims to conceal grey; blending aims for a softer visual transition with some grey remaining visible. Choose the outcome you prefer before discussing products. Grey-blending design is assessed separately; the menu’s root price does not automatically include it.

02Do I need a particular percentage of grey hair for blending?

Percentage alone is not enough to prescribe a plan. Show where the grey sits, your old colour and the result you want. Concentrated grey at the temples can call for a different discussion from evenly scattered grey, even if the estimated percentage is similar.

03Can I blend greys after years of dark permanent colour?

It is a consultation question, not an automatic no or a one-visit promise. Separate the new grey growth from the old coloured lengths. Discuss strand assessment, how much old colour can be changed and whether a staged transition fits your budget and hair condition.

04My greys are mainly at the hairline. Do I need full-head colour?

Photograph the area with your usual parting and with hair tied up. Explain whether you want complete coverage or a less obvious contrast. Ask for a targeted assessment; the menu does not publish a separate hairline-only price, so confirm scope and cost first.

05Can I cover grey without dyeing everything black?

Ask to compare the depth you want, your current base and the degree of coverage expected. Bring brown references rather than only saying “not black”. The achievable result depends on the selected formula and your hair; agree on how much grey may remain visible.

06Can I make the regrowth line look less obvious?

Discuss contrast and placement as well as coverage. Compare a full-cover plan with a transition-focused plan and ask how each would look as it grows. Neither option stops new hair from growing, and no fixed maintenance-free period is promised.

07Is INOA only for people with grey hair?

No. INOA is the ammonia-free colour range on the 3AM menu, not a grey-only service. Discuss your preferred shade and any previous reactions separately. Choosing an ammonia-free product does not remove the need to assess suitability and follow its safety instructions.

08Can I go silver in one session and stop colouring?

Do not plan around that promise. Ask how the old lengths would change and how new growth would meet them. A silver reference may need a different process from simply letting your natural grey grow, and future tonal maintenance should be discussed.

09How is grey blending priced at 3AM?

There is no separate confirmed flat grey-blending price in the menu. Basic, care and INOA root services have their listed regrowth prices, while any highlight or correction plan is assessed separately. Ask for the full design quote rather than assuming the lowest root price applies.

10What should I bring to a grey-hair consultation?

Send daylight photos of the parting, temples and full length. Say how often you currently colour and whether it is permanent, salon or home dye. Most importantly, tell us whether visible grey bothers you or whether you want to keep it as part of the look.

External references explain general concepts; they do not imply that 3AM uses every product from those brands or is endorsed by those organisations. Confirm the salon service, scope and total before proceeding.
