Living with extensions
Washing, tying, sleeping, maintenance and questions to settle before your appointment.
Prices follow the confirmed menu. Unspecified steps or fees are marked for confirmation. General care and safety information does not replace a hair assessment or medical advice.
01How long do hair extensions last?
Separate the life of the hair from the time an installed set can stay in place. 3AM does not publish one guaranteed duration for every attachment and hair condition. Confirm a review plan for your installation and return earlier if something feels wrong.
02Can I wash my hair normally after extensions?
Ask for the washing instructions for your exact attachment before you leave. Confirm the first-wash timing, cleansing and drying around the joins, and which products should stay away from them. Do not assume that one online routine works for every method.
03How should I manage extensions when sleeping?
Ask the stylist to demonstrate a comfortable night routine for your attachment and texture. Discuss drying, a loose protective arrangement and avoiding tension. If joins dig into your scalp, request a review rather than pulling the hair tighter to hold it down.
04Can I put extensions in a ponytail or bun?
Tell us before placement how you normally tie your hair. Ask to check a loose ponytail and your usual parting at the appointment. Whether joins remain discreet depends on placement and your own coverage; no set is promised invisible in every hairstyle.
05What should I do when extensions become tangled?
Pause forceful brushing and ask the salon to identify whether the tangle is in the lengths or near the joins. The listed Extension Maintenance Care is S$380 for softness and tangling care. Do not assume it includes removal or a full refit.
06Can I exercise or swim with extensions?
Mention regular swimming or frequent workouts before choosing a set. Ask for method-specific cleaning, drying and tying instructions, and how pool exposure may affect the planned colour and hair range. Confirm the routine rather than treating extensions as maintenance-free.
07Can I curl or straighten my extensions?
The phrase human hair does not by itself confirm a safe temperature or suitability for repeated heat. Ask for the heat limits and product advice for the actual range, and keep tools away from attachments as instructed. Bring your usual styling routine to the consultation.
08How much are extension removal and refitting?
These are not assigned a confirmed flat price in the current menu. Ask for a separate quote stating removal, cleaning, reusable hair and new hair if needed. Existing attachments from another salon need assessment before a plan is confirmed.
09Should extensions hurt or pull at the scalp?
No. Pain or marked tightness should prompt a review, not be accepted as the price of more volume. Repeated tension can damage hair. Contact the stylist; seek medical advice for persistent irritation, sores or hair loss.

10Are extensions suitable for thinning hair or active hair loss?
A cosmetic fullness request is different from active hair loss. Do not add weight simply to hide a worsening problem. Ask a dermatologist about unexplained shedding or scalp changes before a salon decides whether an extension plan is suitable.
